The 2009 Create festival is fast approaching and the full line-up has now been announced.

Returning to Victoria Park in Ashford for it’s 14th year, the festival is once again expected to draw crowds of thousands to the free admission event.

The line-up for the 2009 festival, which takes place on Sunday 26th July, is one of the biggest they’ve ever had and is a credit to the popularity the festival has achieved over the years. Over 140 bands and artists from all over the UK applied to take part on the bill this year!

Recent A&M Records signing Nick Harrison will be keeping the crowd entertained before event headliners Counterfeit Quo take to the stage.

In addition to the main stage, there is also to be the ‘Right Track Music School Stage’ giving up-and-coming Ashford bands the chance to perform at Create, plus the ‘Sideways Recordings Tent’ run by the new underground label Sideways Recordings, bringing in a slice of DJ action.

If you fancy a break from the music, there will also be Monty Hammond’s Worldwide Funfair present on site, along with various exhibition stalls, face painting, children’s attractions, food stalls, and much more.

Chris Dixon (Arts Development Officer for Ashford Borough Council), said:
“The festival this year doesn’t need selling given the big names we have attracted to Ashford this year. This is all credit to our dedicated team of volunteers and music providers who work so hard, year on year to make Ashford’s big a day a roaring success”.
