The idea of the Sellindge Music festival was conceived in early 2003 by Andre Double. He wanted to combine his love for music alongside his Grandfather’s ambition of staging a music festival.
By 2007, the music at Hope Farm had continued to grow, with a number of outstanding bands now appearing and 2008 saw the realisation of a dream for Andre and the team as Sellindge took place as a fully-fledged music festival for the first time. Headlined by Idlewild, joined by the BBC and hosting a dedicated VW field, an ever-expanding team of enthusiastic volunteers ensured that Sellindge ‘08 was a huge success.
Having established itself as a well-loved music event and one to which thousands of visitors will undoubtedly return, the team are already hard at work ensuring that 2009 will be a momentous year for music, Sellindge and Kent.
The line-up is taking shape, and Supergrass have been announced as festival headliners alongside other major acts from the likes of Red Light Company, Marina and the Diamonds & Thomas Tantrum.
The HeadRoc Arena will be a dance tent like none before with acts such as Eddy Temple-Morris, Brandon Block, Hoxton Whores and Micky Slim performing live.
For those looking for something off the beaten track, there will be a Comedy tent, and an Introducing tent featuring the cream of undiscovered talent in the UK today.
